Topic: How much do you think education and opportunity costs? Labdoo at UCI will speak about the online tools that bring together a global network of people in order to leverage untapped resources for education. Learn about how businesses and individuals can participate together in transforming old laptops into opportunity.

Description: "Each year around 100 million laptops are replaced in the developed world as consumers upgrade to the latest technologies. The increasing number of laptops being replaced poses a significant e-waste management problem. The Labdoo project aims to extend the life of the laptops by providing school children in developing countries with laptops for education. The project encourages everyone to include their laptops within our online database. Once these laptops are broken or out of use, users are then reminded to bring it to us in order to be recycled properly or donated to an education installment project with a partnering organization."

What does the new LEED Green Associate credentials mean for the Orange County market.

Guest Speaker: Lisa Kramer - Executive Director of USGBC-Orange County chapter

Topic: This presentation will explore what the new LEED Green Associate credentials will mean for the Orange County market, and why it’s a "must have" for people involved in sustainability.

Lisa will also provide updates on what the Orange County chapter of USGBC is involved in… So, if you've heard of USGBC or LEED and would like to learn more, this is the meeting to come to. Lisa Kramer is the person to answer all your questions about the U.S. Green Building Council!

Lisa Kramer became the Executive Director of the U.S. Green Building Council - Orange County chapter in May of 2009. Lisa is a graduate of Purdue University and has a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Explore its root causes, its devastating effects and sustainable solutions to combat it.

Guest Speaker: Mark Moore - Co-Founder/CEO MANA

Topic: This presentation will explore questions regarding malnutrition and sustainable solutions to combat them such as Ready to Use Therapeutic Food.

Mark Moore spent nearly ten years working in eastern Uganda, serving as a rural community development worker and missionary. After returning to the United States, he earned a Master’s degree with an emphasis in development at Georgetown University. He has served as Legislative Fellow and Africa Specialist in the United States Senate for Senator Mary Landrieu, as an Africa Analyst for the Science Applications International Corporation, and as Policy Director for the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute.
